Only 45 minutes from Atlanta, Hall County offers theatre, concerts, musicals, conservatories and art galleries. The population of Gainesville is approximately 35,000. The estimated population of Hall County is 170,000. The median age is 30. The home ownership rate is about 73%. In 2006, Hall County was the 12th fastest growing metropolitan area in the nation. The average price of homes is 200,000. 2340 single-family housing permits were issued in 2005, which was 30% more than the previous year. High-end housing is on the rise in Hall County.

Our climate is wonderful. The Winter is mild with average highs in the 50's and lows in the 30's although colder and warmer periods can occur. There is usually not much snow here. Spring is pleasant with highs in the 70's and 80's with lows in the 40's and 50's. March is the wettest month of the year on average. The average highs in the Summer reaches the 90's. That’s when we spend lots of time on the Lake. Fall has temperatures similar to spring but it is dryer. In late October to November the leaves are in the midst of glorious color changes. There is no shortage of Fall Festivals. Folks take in weekend drives to enjoy the brilliant reds, yellows, purples and orange shades of the fall leaves.

Gainesville as its own airport. Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport offers 81 T-Hangars and 12 Corporate Hangars which are available to lease for both private and corporate aircraft. Flight training is also available.

Gainesville Parks & Recreation maintains about 425 acres of land, 20 parks, 20 athletic fields, 12 playgrounds, 16 tennis courts and operates the Civic Center and two swimming pools. It is involved with the Olympic Center, The Allen Creek Soccer Complex and a host of other recreational facilities.

Gainesville is the county seat. However, there are other cities in Hall; Flowery Branch, Oakwood, Murrayville, Lula, and Clermont; each with its own special uniqueness that contributes to the beauty and to the quality of life here in Hall County, Georgia.
